Q. Why is there a random, small white fibre in the fabric?

A. When the raw wool is collected by the herders and stored for transport, it will retain grass, mud and general vegetable matter. Even after the wool is cleaned and sorted, some very small pieces of this vegetable matter will remain.  In addition, the herders will store the wool in poly bags. These bags may leave very small poly fibres in the wool that will stay through the treatment of the wool. While we are making every effort to remove these as part of our quality control checks. Don't worry, this is normal in an animal fibre and neither the vegetable matter nor the rare cases of poly fibres will affect the performance, nor the super-soft hand feel of our Him-alayer™ fabric. We are continuing to work with the herders and with our manufacturers to further improve each though.

Q. Where does the wool in my 2012 kora garment come from?

A. To date the wool in our fabric we buy directly from our yarn spinners. We have visited the communities and we know their buying agents personally, following a visit to these sourcing areas in 2011. However, it was not kora that made the purchase from these communities. We know that the wool comes from the nomad areas of Gansu province which border Sichuan and Qinghai, and from the Zaduo township of Yushu prefecture in Qinghai province.

Q. Do you plan to buy wool directly from nomad herder communities?

A. Yes!  direct relationship with herder communities is vital for us if we are to achieve our mission objective to bring positive change to nomad herder communities. We want to be directly involved on the ground. This is also the only way that can guarantee to you the original source of the wool. During this 2012 collection season, we have already bought wool directly from the communities that make up the Kegawa Cooperative, in Zhiduo County of Yushu in Qinghai. This is the wool that we will use to make our 2013 garment range.

Q. Do I have to have an account to buy a product?

A. You don’t have to set up an account, you can go through the checkout as a guest, but you won’t be able to check your order status, or reorder products with a few clicks from your account page.

Q. Where can I see my order status?

A. Go to any page on the website, at the top right you’ll see ‘login’. Click this to log in to your account using your email & password (just click the forgotten password link if you can’t remember). From your account dashboard you can see all your orders including the status of shipping.

Q. How do I contact you about a return?

A. That’s easy! Just email us at howcanwehelp@kora.net, you might also want to have a look in our customer service section to find out more about our returns policy.

Q. Is kora fabric itchy like other wools?

A. Feedback from our athlete testers has been unanimous in saying that the base layers are very soft and not itchy: it’s one of the great things about our Hima-Layer™ fabric. We think this is because the yak wool fibres are not only fine, but also flexible, which makes them softer than other wool fibres.

Q. I’ve got a promotional code, how do I use it?

A. When you place your order you’ll see a box on the left underneath the contents of your basket that says “promotional code” – just enter it here then click ‘update basket’.

Q. I’m not sure if my order has gone through, how can I check?

A. You can login to your account to see if your order is in there. If you’re still not sure just email us at howcanwehelp@kora.net.

Q. Can I pre-order a product?

A. No you can’t pre-order, but you can add your name to a mailing list so we can automatically let you know as soon as the product is back in stock.
